Evaluate Your Personal Wellness

Personal Wellness is used to describe a person’s overall health and well-being, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual elements. At Zero Gravity Fitness, we are here to help you achieve physical wellness and guide you in finding balance and making choices to support your overall health and well-being. We encourage you to take time for self-reflection, goal-setting, and ongoing commitment to selfcare practices. Evaluate your Personal Wellness by using the 7 elements below and set goals for your summer. Team up with your ZGF Trainer for help in your goal setting.

  1. Physical Wellness: You take care of your body through
regular exercise, nutrition, sleep, and avoiding harmful habits
    like smoking and excessive drinking.
  2. Mental Wellness: You nurture mind and emotional
health, practicing mindfulness and relaxation techniques,
    seeking support when needed.
  3. Emotional Wellness: You understand and manage
emotions in a healthy way, developing resilience, coping
skills, self-awareness, and a positive outlook.
  4. Social Wellness: You build and maintain relationships,
spending time with friends and family, cultivating a support
network, and participating in social activities that bring joy
    and fulfillment.
  5. Spiritual Wellness: You find meaning and purpose in life,
by exploring beliefs, values, and sense of connection to
    something greater than yourself.
  6. Intellectual Wellness: You involve your mind, pursuing
education, exploring new interests, reading, solving puzzles,
or engaging in intellectually stimulating conversations.
  7. Environmental Wellness: You create and maintain a
healthy living environment. i.e.: promoting sustainability,
minimizing exposure to toxins and pollutants, and connecting
    with nature

My Healthy By Design Story

I’ve been training at ZGF for more than 10 years and have no regrets, only results– mental and physical. I work out every day, but I consider Wednesday a perfectly designed health day for me. It is this healthy designed plan that creates the best version of me. It is (ZGD) Zero Gravity that makes the Difference in my #healthybydesign quest. My Wednesday starts with cardio, then cardio flows into a private strength training session (legs on Wednesday) followed by a few minutes of stretch on the Reformer. I then head out for an action-packed workday. I return to ZGF in the evening for Aerial Yoga. The Aerial fabric creates opportunities to invert, stretch and strengthen that I believe you cannot get any other way!

My hip flexors have never been so healthy and my
whole demeanor shifts in that one hour from
confident power work mode to confident strength
Zen mode. I have learned that Zen can be strong,
quiet can scream strength and Aerial Yoga can firm
and stretch, all are beneficial to my mind and body. It’s an amazing transition to home.

I work hard and have accomplished much in my career and personally, but ZGF led by Leo has taught me that my work is not done and that humility along with the desire to excel (even if I fail/fall) in the gym and in life is the best way for me to stay young. Also, what I eat matters. Often this means eating more, but correctly. Thank you, Leo and the ZGF trainers for helping me define my personal #healthybydesign, age will not win! ~written by Susan West
